Some people may experience a problem when upgrading to Windows 10 – the reaction of the right-click menu is very, very slow. You need to wait for even five or six seconds after right-clicking your mouse at the desktop. Have you ever had this problem? It is actually caused by some key values in the registry, just delete them and the problem will be solved.

1. Press [Windows+R] to evoke Run. Enter “regedit” in the textbox and click OK or press [Enter] to open Registry Editor.

2. Click HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT > Directory > Background > Shellex > ContextMenuHandlers.

Or you can click Edit tab and choose Find…, then enter Directory in Find what, Look at Keys and check Match whole string only, hit Find Next to find the specific folder.

3. In ContextMenuHandlders, you can delete all the files except for New. Just right-click them and choose Delete in the menu.

4. There may be an error notification popping out in the process of deleting. Just hit OK and ignore it.

5. After all these steps, you can quit the Registry Editor and try right clicking anywhere at the desktop to see if the menu pops out immediately.
