There are at least 6 ways to insert tick and cross symbols in Excel or Word. I guess you know at least one or two of these methods. But the method I want to talk about is the very unusual one.
Let’s take the table below as an example.
Select the area from cell B2 to cell B9, and go to the Data tab to choose Date Validation.
Allow List and type R, S in the Source box like below.
After hitting OK, we need to change the font into Wingdings 2.
If you choose R in the list, there will appear a tick in a box; if you choose S, there will be a cross symbol.
