As we all know, greenery in office can help us relieve stress and alleviate the eye fatigue on certain level addition to improve the environment. However, the greenery we planting in office is usually leaf-watching plants rather than beautiful flowering plants, cause the latter are definitely much harder to grow indoor.
But, personally, I still have the urge to keep a flowering plant in office to refresh my eyes after working long hours. I also did some quick research to collect 5 flowering plants that are suitable for office. They are ranked in 3 aspects: maintenance difficulty, lighting requirement and water requirement.
Maintenance difficulty: « means the easiest, «« means relatively easy, and so on.
Lighting requirement: « means the lowest level, «« means a relatively low level, and so on.
Water requirement: « means the lowest level, «« means a relatively low level, and so on.
1. Hyacinth

Hyacinth is a fragrant flowering plants in the family Asparagaceae, subfamily Scilloideae. It grows from bulbs, each producing around four to six linear leaves and one to three spikes or racemes of flowers.
Hyacinth can be planted in soil or in water. The pleasant aroma in florescence can relieve your stress.
2. Jasmine

Jasmine is a genus of shrubs and vines in the olive family. When blooming, it has a strong aroma which can kill bacteria. It can also be used in diet or jasmine tea production because of the health care and beauty keeping effect.
Many countries regard it as the flower of love. Young men and women send jasmine flowers to each other for expressing their faithful love.
3. Lily of the valley

Lily of the valley is a highly poisonous woodland flowering plant with sweetly scented, pendent, bell-shaped white flowers borne in sprays in spring. It can not only purify the ai, but also restrain the growth of some bacteria such as n/med tuberculosis bacterium, pneumococci and staphylococcus.
Looking at these lovely little wind chimes, you can hardly stay in bad mood for long even just being scolded by boss.
4. Adenium

Also known as Desert Rose. It’s a genus of flowering plants in the Apocynum family, which is native to Africa and the Arabian Peninsula, and grown as a houseplant in temperate regions. The flowers of it are rose-red and trumpet-like.
Adenium loves head and hates cold. Sometimes the leaves of it will fall in winder to reduce the evaporation and keep out the cold. Itself will fall into a “hibernation” state.
5. Poinsettia

The poinsettia, also known as Christmas Flower, is a commercially important plant species of the diverse spurge family. The plant bears dark green dentate leaves that measure 7–16 centimeters in length.
The colored bracts are often mistaken for flowers because of their shapes and colors, but they are actually leaves.
There’re so many lovely flowering plants in the world. I just shared 5 species of them which can be grown in office comparatively easily. Which one do you like best? Try finding the plant perfectly meet your need and give your eyes a break in the working environment!
