Use F4 to Redo Your Last Action and Boost Your Efficiency in Word

There are a lot of shortcuts in Word, but personally I think the most practical one is F4 in daily office work. The main function of it is redoing your last action, which could replace the function of format painter, copy & paste, and also quickly help us with plenty of unnecessary repetitive work.

1. Switch Color

When you want to highlight some content in the document, no need to switch color repeatedly, just select the specified text, and change the color for it as an example. For the rest of it, simply select them and press F4 to redo this action.

2. Uniform Image Size

To optimize the layout of the document, the length and width of images inserted should be uniformed. It is a waste of time if you modify them one by one manually. Try using F4 instead.

3. Merge Cells

I’d shared the tip of how to merge multiple cells in Excel, while editing with Word, you cannot use fill handle to merge cells automatically, but with F4 it is possible to apply this action of merging to multiple cells quickly as well.

4. Calculate Summation

Similarly, you cannot insert a formula to multiple cells with autofill in Word, so if you want to calculate the summation quickly, using F4 is a smart choice.
